Hyperpigmentation is a common condition where areas of
the skin color darkens due to increased melanin. This
is usually a harmless condition caused by medications,
sun exposure, illness, or aging. Post acne
hyperpigmentation is another common reason. Acne can
leave dark scars and marks on the skin. Many
individuals feel self-conscious about the dark
splotches and spots and want them to disappear,
especially when they are on the face. There are
several options for treating and lightening the skin.
