A common method of diagnosing a TCP/IP network connection is to use the ping utility. By pinging a remote host, you can determine whether the connection is healthy. MultiPing is a tool which lets you add several remote hosts to a list. It periodically pings all these servers, and shows a different icon depending on the state of the server (error, offline, or online). If online, it also shows the total round trip time. This lets you determine relative network latency.
