Team Source for VB - Version 1.0 Use Team Source to manage your Visual Basic Source Code! 1) Keep a central master copy of your VB Projects Source code. The Master VB source code files are maintain with Write-Protection. This write-protection can protect the Master Source Code from accidents. The write-protection is automatic. 2) Project Team Developer's have their own Development area at their work station. The developer keeps a personal copy of the Source Code on thier own machine. This helps protects the master Source Code. The developer can only make changes to files that have been checked-in. While a file is check-in no other developer can make changes to the file. With the Team Source Security the developer can be limited to a subset of the source code. 3) Check-in and Check-Out facility reduces errors. To make any changes to a file the file must be checked-in. The checked-in file can be released without updating the Master Source files. The developer can Re-Check-in which means they can start over again with a fresh copy. 4) Security Features can limit access to project files. The developer can be given Read, Write or no access at all to project files. With Read access the developer can receive a copy of a file but they cannot change it. With Write access the developer can receive a copy of a file which they can make changes to. 4) Change History and back-up aids in recovery from accidents. Each time a change is made to the Master Directory the change is registered in the Team Source Repository. The developer can enter a detailed description of the changes made. The developer responsible for the change a identified as making the change. A copy of the file changed is backed up for recovery purposes. 5) Multiple Projects can be managed. More than one project can be used with the Team Source program. The developer only has access to projects that has been assigned to the developer. The developer can easily switch from one project to another. Team members can be imported into one project from another project. Useful for individual programmers who would like to keep Master and Development versions of their source code.
