											Do you know what makes a good survival knife? Do you 
know what to look for and why? This article will go 
through what you should be looking for when you choose 
a survival knife for your wilderness survival kit.
Why do you need to carry a survival knife when you go 
into the wilderness? A survival knife can be used to 
cut parachute cord, create tinder by splitting wood, 
create a spear by lashing the knife to a stick, 
preparing any food you have brought or caught, plus a 
whole host of other uses.
The best survival knife is constructed of one piece of 
metal, to which there may be slabs of material 
attached to form a comfortable handle. This does not 
include folding pocket knives. This kind of 
construction is known in the knife world as "full 
tang" or "narrow tang". A good survival knife will 
include a relatively heavy blade with a total 
thickness of around 3/16 of an inch and a blade length
