FmEdit is the ideal replacement for Windows Explorer, FmEdit can run under: Win9x, ME, NT, Windows 2000 and Whistler (beta). It enables you to perform common file operations such as copy, move, rename and delete files, create folders, files and shortcuts, run programs, and just about everything else you've come to expect from Explorer, you can even get the size of a folder (including sub-folders) by single clicking on a folder in the file window. At a touch of a button, you can double the power, turning FmEdit into a dual-Explorer interface, context menus and drag-and-drop are fully supported. When not running in dual mode, the right-hand pane exposes several powerful utilities that the program automatically employs as file viewers. These include A viewer for Microsoft Excel files which can read XLS 2.1, 3.0, 4.0 worksheet files and XLS 5.0, 95, 97/2000 workbook files, access all sheets in a workbooks, receive all text, numbers, etc. that are written in a cell, read cell formatting information (font, cell color, border, etc.; A large file text editor; an html viewer/editor; an image viewer that supports most popular image formats (even animated .gif files), you can even scan an image directly into the viewer which has a host of editing options; a full-featured zip utility that supports spanned zip files, password protection, self- extracting zip files, you can view any supported file in any of the viewers without having to first extract the file, files can even be renamed within the archive. Context menus are available to access the powerful features of each utility. Other features include a powerful hex editor which allows you to open any file type, an rtf editor with support for embedded object's, an mp3 tag editor, a monthly and yearly calendar, an advanced calculator (you can even use your own, see the help file on how) + much much more.
