											AFax Description:
AFAX is a powerful FAX system for corporate network
users or simply one PC. AFAX makes the creation,
management, sending, and receiving of FAX documents
easy, efficient, and reliable. There is no need for
the typical paper fax machine. AFAX software uses a
Native FAX client application on the PC desktop that
communicates with the AFAX server on the corporate
network. The AFAX server supports multiple addresses
books, and can be very useful for broadcasting FAX
messages to hundreds of recipients. AFAX will keep a
log record of both the sent FAX document and the
successful contacts make. The AFAX network server
also provides incoming FAX management, and can queue
multiple received FAX documents on the server for
later retrieval by a persons PC.
AFAX provides the following benefits:
- AFAX enables employees to send and receive FAX
documents from their desks. There is no need to waste
time and resources distributing paper printouts to
recipients, or walking over to a common hardware-
based FAX machine. The employee can assign either
urgent or normal priority to the message. AFAX
supports Windows XP/2000/NT and Windows ME/98/95
desktops and installs without having to reboot the
client PC.
- AFAX permits companies to distribute incoming FAXes
to the right department or individual based on the
target XXX.
- AFAX offers your company a way to broadcast - an
advertisement or an important document --to a large
number of pre-determined targets, logging the
delivery success or failure in a readable file. AFAX
can retry sending the documents according to your
requirements. Now anyone can reliably know if the
documents reached their destinations right from their
desktop. The distribution lists and the success logs
can be managed and viewed individually and corporate
wide.
- AFAX software works on any network server, and
multiple servers can be supported in large corporate
operations where departments are spread across
multiple servers. The distribution lists, inbound and
outbound faxes, can be managed by individual users
and/or the FAX administrator.
- AFAX server software supports any modem type
attached to the server, including multiple modems
where phone lines are used to send FAXES. AFAX has
many configuration options for modem support
including hot swapability, number of rings before
answer, dialing options, and even call waiting
support.
- AFAX also supports IP faxing, offering the same
inbound and outbound document management features for
Internet transmission.
- AFax comes with an API for embedding AFAX
functionality into other applications. This is a real
benefit for departments wanting a fully integrated,
customized solution.
