  Outlook Automator  -  Version  3.0

Outlook Automator addresses one shortcoming of Microsoft's Outlook 98 and Outlook Express email applications. Although both programs have features for automatic connection to the Internet, collecting mail, and disconnection when finished, these options hold major flaws if you connect to the 'Net with dial-up networking. When you enable these functions in the Outlook apps, the programs always attempt to connect to the Internet, even if you only want to read local mail. There's no way to toggle these settings for one session of the program only -- unless you use Outlook Automator, which lets you turn off all the automation settings in Outlook 98 and Outlook Express. However, when you start Outlook Automator, it backs up your original settings, modifies the Outlook settings to connect/collect/disconnect automatically, starts Outlook Express/98, waits until Outlook Express/98 has finished sending and receiving, then disconnects, closes Outlook Express/98, and restores your original settings. You might want to use Outlook Automator in tandem with scheduling programs like System Agent or Task Scheduler to provide unattended mail sending and receiving.
